Our very own Arizona tree

Our first tree that came with the house split down the middle and broke after Cole & Eric tried to climb it. (Nick & I joke that many trees around here are really large bushes trimmed up to look like trees which don't hardly stand up to children or monsoon storms.) So we tore it out!

A few days later we were informed that the HOA requires one 15 gallon tree in every front yard. Oops! So we went tree shopping, and got this great, totally cute, Arizona-like palm tree. As with any outdoor project Eric is right there assisting like a pro. We love our little tree- it feels so tropical and desert-ish.
We've heard that this kind of palm can grow 40 feet tall. Wow.
I wonder if we'll be around to see that.
