We had a wonderful Valentine's Day while supporting a very important cause. The Bailey's are an amazing family in our ward who have 2 1/2 year-old conjoined twins - Emma & Taylor. These sweet girls were born two weeks after we moved to Arizona and we have watched them grow up. They were not expected to live one day but are truly miracles in so many ways. The girls share one heart and one liver and are doing testing this year to be separated.
On Valentine's Day our ward and the whole community had a special fundraiser to help the girls and the Bailey family with the expenses of separation. It was an amazing day. Many people helped to organize and put on this enormous event and we had a great time. There were 10k, 5k, and 1 mile runs, a silent auction, raffle drawings, entertainment bands and performances, a rock wall, bouncy houses, games and activities, vendor booths, food, and many sponsors and donations. We participated in preparation and volunteering, the 1 mile fun run with hundreds of other families, and enjoyed entertainment and activities and food. We have a wonderful ward and community full of love- and this truly was a special way to celebrate Valentine's day.
