Ren Landon Neilson is our Arizona baby. Of course we wanted to choose a name for him that we liked, and one that goes well with the other siblings' names..... But, we really wished we could find a name that would tie in to being from Arizona as well.But what? Phoenix, Mesa, Plateau, Saguaro, Ocotillo, Diamondback, Tarantula, Lizard, Oaxaca, Salt River Project,
Hot, 118? ... nothing seemed to work.
So we chose to name him after his Great-Grandfather Smith, Grandpa Smith (middle name), and Uncle Justin (middle name) - Ren. It's a cool name, and it goes well with Cole, Eric, and Ella.
We like it.
We have since discovered that our Arizona tie-in worked out after all. This cute little fella is the Arizona state bird -
the Cactus Wren!
Coincidence? A Twist of Fate? Either way, we think it's really cool.

Chad thinks you should have named him Javelina, or peccary (another name for Javelina). But we still like Ren. That is awesome that the bird is a Cactus Wren, how fitting.
Those photos of Ren are soooo cute. I love his hair! Seeing your kids makes me so excited to start our family soon! We're struggling with the naming process too--anything that would be naming him after DC (since we met and first lived here and he'll be born here) is either too presidential, too stiff, or already taken by our turtle. We might have to go for virtually meaningless but cute. :)
